Whittley sets new sales record

By IBI Magazine

Australia's Whittley Marine Group, manufacturer of trailerable fibreglass boats, has set a new sales record with is twin flagships, the Cruiser 2800 and Cruiser 2600.

According to a company statement, 58 units of the Cruiser 2800 have been sold since its initial launch at the 2007 Melbourne Boat Show last July — a build rate of just over one per week. The Cruiser 2600, which was launched at this year's BIA Melbourne Boat Show, has ramped up to a similar production rate. Both models boast a European-inspired style, luxurious standard equipment and single-level living and sleeping.

"The exceptional demand for the Cruiser 2600 confirms that many people want the CR2800's style and function in a slightly smaller, more manageable boat," says Whittley co-owner and managing director Neville Whittley. "In designing this boat, we believed our customers would be impressed with the result — and our customers have more than fulfilled out hopes.

Whittley Marine is said to be Australia's largest builder of trailerable fibreglass boats, with a production capacity of more than 1,600 boats per year. The company has Australian and US plants in Campbellfield, Victoria and Willacoochee, Georgia.
